As the days are getting shorter and the summer tans are beginning to fade, this is the time of year when I start to see more and more patients walking into my Mayfair aesthetic clinic, wanting to find a treatment that will brighten up their skin and eliminate any irregularities before winter sets in and the party season is upon us.
Skin imperfections such as acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, rough textured skin and enlarged pores are just some of the problems my patients are faced with, now that the golden glow has gone. Laser skin resurfacing has traditionally been used to deal with some, if not all, of these problems but there is a significant of downtime associated with that, which many people cannot fit into their busy lifestyles.
How is eMatrix different?
I brought the eMatrix system into my Mayfair aesthetic clinic to offer a solution to all the above skincare problems, without the downtime associated with laser skin resurfacing. eMatrix is a sublative treatment, which means it works beneath the surface of the skin to effect improvements from the inside out, without any major disruption to your appearance while it is working – just 48 hours downtime, as opposed to several days with laser skin rejuvenation.
How does it work?
Radiofrequency is used to deliver heat into the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production and resulting in plumper, firmer and brighter skin. The treatment has been clinically proven to treat fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring and textural irregularities, as well as stretch marks. Results will continue to improve over a period of three to five months.
How long does it take?
One treatment takes around thirty minutes, depending on the chosen treatment area, and ideally three treatments are needed, spaced around six weeks apart. As mentioned previously, there is a small amount of downtime associated with eMatrix skin resurfacing – around 48 hours, making it the perfect Friday afternoon treatment, so you needn’t book any time off work!
