laser hair removal

How to perfect your pins

Schools have broken up, which means summer is well and truly underway and we’re all more aware than ever of our physical imperfections now that we can no longer hide them under swathes of clothing.

‘Legs’ come high up on most women’s list of most hated body parts, with reasons cited ranging from excess hair and unsightly veins to cellulite or chunky thighs. The latter concerns can be dealt with through diet and exercise – or, in more extreme cases, with the help of a plastic surgeon – but the former can be treated very quickly and easily by a cosmetic doctor. So, what are the options?

Excess hair

Laser hair removal is a fast, effective and permanent way to reduce body hair. One treatment takes between 30 and 60 minutes, and most people need between four and six treatments, spaced three to four weeks apart, before the hair is gone forever.

Leg veins

Here at Dr Joney de Souza Aesthetic Clinic in London, we offer two different treatments to deal with unsightly veins on the legs:

Laser vein removal

This 20 minute treatment is a great way to permanently remove veins, with no downtime and minimal pain – most patients describe it as a mild tingling sensation. Laser vein removal is the perfect last-minute procedure if you want to zap those veins before a big event.

Considered the gold standard for treating spider veins, microsclerotherapy involves injecting the veins with a special substance that causes them to swell up and eventually self destruct, over the course of several weeks. London cosmetic doctor Dr Joney de Souza is an expert in this technique, and trains other doctors to perform microsclerotherapy through Wigmore Medical, where he is a master trainer.
