FAQ – Dermaroller Collagen Induction Therapy

What is Dermaroller Collagen Induction Therapy?

For those in search of smoother, brighter, healthier and younger-looking skin Dermaroller micro skin needling is a procedure that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin cells.

It can be used on any part of the body and on any skin type to improve the appearance of:

  • Acne scars
Facial, décolleté lines or wrinkles
  • Skin tightening and pore reduction
  • Stretch marks
  • Aged and sun damaged skin
  • Hands rejuvenation

Skin Needling with Dermaroller produces hundreds of tiny dermal injuries, each one triggering the normal healing responses within the skin. Successive treatments build new collagen progressively, filling in depressed scars and deep lines.

What results can I expect from the Dermaroller treatment?

The needle length and needle diameter are important to determine the best combination for treating scars and rejuvenating the skin.

Creating dermal damage without removing the healthy epidermis, as with other resurfacing techniques, means that healing time is rapid and does not cause comparable pain.

During the micro-needling procedure we simply stimulate the body’s own self-healing mechanisms. The Dermaroller is moved across the treatment area and creates a number of minuscule punctures, which then become the focal point for the body to produce its own collagen.

Results are quick and lasting but usually require multiple treatments to achieve satisfactory results, between three to six treatments are recommended. In our experience, results vary between patients with some patients achieving 90%+ improvement in scarring and wrinkles, others, less than 50%. All patients however, achieve some improvement and there is a high level of patient satisfaction.

Are there any risks or complications and side effects?

The Dermaroller needles are very fine and thin so no post-op pain or side-effects have been reported, and patients can return to work the day after the treatment wearing light make-up.

How much does Dermaroller cost?

Full face – £345
