What are Dermal and Volumising Fillers?
Dermal Fillers are anti ageing solutions and treatments to replenish lost volume, correct wrinkles, folds and lines, they can plump up your skin, smooth wrinkles and fill out deep lines by replacing the collagen lost due to natural aging. They are also used for natural looking lip enhancement or augmentation and effective for shaping facial contours on the cheeks, chin, nose, jowl, eyebrows and jaw. They can be used in treating some scars, including acne scaring.

What types of dermal fillers do we use?
Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are most commonly known by some of their brand names: Restylane®, Juvederm® and Perlane®.
Hyaluronic acid exists naturally and abundantly in the skin and is important in retaining moisture. These dermal fillers are totally compatible with the human body and the treatment results are immediate, with none or minimal downtime. They are safe and can be corrected easily if needed.
Depending on the type of dermal filler used, results can last from 6 to 12 months.
Volumising Filler (Radiesse®) provides the volume and lift needed to diminish the signs of aging because of the calcium-based microspheres and gel that comprise the product. It acts as a scaffold under the skin, providing structure and stimulating your own natural collagen to grow. This process continues for several months, which extends the initial effect of this dermal filler. The natural results are clinically proven to last a year or more in many patients.
What does dermal filler treatment involve?
Dr De Souza will talk you through the premium dermal filler products we use and which one, or combination, will achieve the best results for you as part of your personalised treatment plan.
Depending on the area treated, it usually takes no longer than 30 minutes and you can leave the clinic as soon as you are ready to.
After cleansing the area to be treated, a numbing cream can be applied. Don’t worry, the injections administered by Dr De Souza cause only minor discomfort. Afterwards, there might be a small amount of swelling which will quickly subside.
