Botox® anti-wrinkle injections are approved by the FDA for improving fine lines and wrinkles in areas where over-contracted underlying muscles can cause the skin to look stressed and aged.
An anti-wrinkle treatment with Botox® is non-surgical, very quick and safe. It consists of very small amounts of product being finely injected into specific areas, temporarily relaxing the underlying muscle and the skin, resulting in less noticeable facial lines and wrinkles.
Anti-wrinkle injections work best for glabella (vertical furrows between the eyes) or frown lines, lines on the bridge of the nose, crow’s feet around the eyes, bands on the neck, and dimpled or pocked skin on the chin area. This treatment is also effective in the treatment of hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating in the hands, feet or underarms; and teeth grinding.
There is virtually no downtime. Potential side effects include minor redness, swelling and possible bruising at the injection site. Results are usually seen in 4-10 days and may last between 3 to 6 months.

Facial lines are caused by repeated use of the facial muscles of expression e.g. squinting and frowning. By injecting a few drops of Wrinkle Relaxing solution with a tiny needle into the muscle this can reduce the amount of facial muscle movement and the lines can be softened. The aim of the treatment is to break the habit of frowning or squinting and so reduce the appearance of the lines and also reduce the development of further facial lines.
Prevention is often better than cure.
You will be invited for a medical consultation to assess your suitability for this treatment. You will be unable to proceed with wrinkle relaxing injections if you are pregnant.
The process is quite painless, although a topical local anaesthetic cream may be applied to the treatment area first. Anti wrinkle treatment is administered by a series of injections of small amounts of solution via a fine needle so that any discomfort is minor and short-lived. Slight swelling and redness settles within half an hour or so. Lines and wrinkles diminish as a result of a relaxing effect on the specific muscles whose repeated movements have caused them. The effects of treatment start after a few days and are complete within two weeks; benefits of treatment will last usually for 3 or 4 months. Repeated treatments at 3-4 monthly intervals will give optimum results over the long term – both in terms of preventing wrinkle formation but also by allowing remodelling of skin to occur so that any fixed creases will improve over time.
There might be a small amount of redness, swelling or bruising at the site of Botox® injection, but this should fade quickly. Results aren’t instantaneous, as it takes a while for treatment to work its way into the muscles, but you should start to see the effects within about a week. You will need to return for top-ups every three to six months, as the effects fade over time, but most people are so delighted with the results that they can hardly wait for their next appointment with Dr Joney.

CANCELLATIONS
There is a 48 hour notice period to cancel or rearrange appointments. Outside this period there will be either a late cancellation fee of £100, this may be redeemed from any holding deposit. Late arrivals of 15 minutes or more might not be able to be seen.
REFUNDS
We do not offer refunds on any treatment delivered. However, if you change your mind about any treatment purchased within 14 days, we are happy to exchange it for an alternative treatment or product or offer you a refund. We do not offer refund on skincare products sold.
REVIEWS
Treatment reviews may be carried out between 2 and 4 weeks following treatment. Reviews will never be performed when there is evidence of swelling, bruising, inflammation or pain. One treatment review only will be performed per treatment and never outside the 4 weeks period following treatment.
Reviews refer to the treatment delivered and include the agreed volumes and doses of any used and paid for product. Additional services or products will be charged accordingly.
CHILDCARE
Children are welcome into our clinic. However, our staff are unable to supervise children during treatments for both health & safety and insurance reasons.
Please could we politely ask that you do not bring your children along to your appointment with us unless they are supervised by another adult.
Children will not be allowed into treatment rooms for health and safety reasons.
