As with PRP, your own blood is taken, and goes through a process of centrifugation where it is essentially spun in a machine which separates out the platelets and other components suspended in bloody plasma. These other components include fibrin matrix, which is a protein involved in blood clotting, as well as white blood cells.
Platelets and Fibrin are rich in growth factors which essentially perform an array of anti-aging, skin-benefiting functions, including boosting the skin’s collagen building process. The PRF releases slower and therefore has a longer anti-aging effect.
PRF is a completely natural aesthetic treatment and can be used as to help rejuvenate the appearance of your face, under eye area or as an effective treatment for hair loss and stimulating hair regrowth. Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a by-product of blood (plasma) that is rich in platelets.
Dr Joney De Souza will take a small amount of your blood and place this in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the platelet rich plasma containing growth factors. The plasma is then re-injected into treatment area – it can be administered either in multiple micro-injections, like Mesotherapy or Dermal Hydrating Treatments, directly into lines and wrinkles, like a filler, or deeper into the dermis, like a volumiser.
The process should be no more painful than any other injectable procedure, but the treatment area might be numbed beforehand with a topical local anaesthetic cream. Some practitioners combine this with other ‘self-heal’ treatments, like Medical Micro-Needling to enhance the results.
There might be a small amount of redness or swelling at injection site, but this should fade quickly. You might also have some bruising where the blood was taken, but again this won’t last. One thing to avoid is taking aspirin or any anti-inflammatory drugs. This isn’t a one-off treatment – a course of treatments is usually recommended and it might take up to six months for the results of platelet rich plasma therapy to show, but the real benefit is that they should be permanent.
Improvement of skin texture and tone are noticeable within three weeks. Full collagen regeneration takes three months.

CANCELLATIONS
There is a 48 hour notice period to cancel or rearrange appointments. Outside this period there will be either a late cancellation fee of £100, this may be redeemed from any holding deposit. Late arrivals of 15 minutes or more might not be able to be seen.
REFUNDS
We do not offer refunds on any treatment delivered. However, if you change your mind about any treatment purchased within 14 days, we are happy to exchange it for an alternative treatment or product or offer you a refund. We do not offer refund on skincare products sold.
REVIEWS
Treatment reviews may be carried out between 2 and 4 weeks following treatment. Reviews will never be performed when there is evidence of swelling, bruising, inflammation or pain. One treatment review only will be performed per treatment and never outside the 4 weeks period following treatment.
Reviews refer to the treatment delivered and include the agreed volumes and doses of any used and paid for product. Additional services or products will be charged accordingly.
CHILDCARE
Children are welcome into our clinic. However, our staff are unable to supervise children during treatments for both health & safety and insurance reasons.
Please could we politely ask that you do not bring your children along to your appointment with us unless they are supervised by another adult.
Children will not be allowed into treatment rooms for health and safety reasons.
